Dave is Grand Strand native, who grew up in Garden City Beach and graduated from Socastee High School. Dave then earned a Business Administration degree from The Citadel in 1991, an MBA from Winthrop University in 1997, and an MA in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2014. After a 20 year financial services career, culminating with the sale of Murray Wealth Management LLC in Pawleys Island SC, Dave surrendered to full time ministry and was ordained in 2012 by First Baptist Murrells Inlet, SC. Shortly afterwards, Dave was called as our bivocational pastor. Bivocational means he has 2 callings: He serves as our pastor, and serves our community through his counseling practice, Canaan Consulting LLC, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Board Certified Christian Counselor.

Dave has been happily married to his wife, Kelly Cribb Murray, for 22 years. They have 3 adult children: Noelle Settlemire, (Andrew - son in law) with 2 amazing grandsons Rowan & Ryland, Kala Coker, and Chase Murray.
